Ecwid

Ecwid is a cloud-based e-commerce platform used by around 150,000 online retailers in 175 countries (2026). Originally founded in 2009 in Russia, it later moved to the USA (California), but has been part of Lightspeed, a Canadian company, since 2021. It is now officially known as “Ecwid by Lightspeed”.

Ecwid (short for “E-commerce Widget”) is an e-commerce platform that allows you to add a shopping basket and online shop to an existing website, blog or social media page.

Ecwid’s main strength lies in the fact that it enables entrepreneurs to add an online shop to any website or social media page (e.g. WordPress, Wix, Instagram, Facebook, etc.) and manage multiple sites simultaneously. It therefore builds on existing platforms and can be integrated into any website and a wide range of point-of-sale systems, making it possible to offer and sell products and services from multiple online shops, with mobile management and point-of-sale system integration – anywhere and at any time. It offers a number of options, albeit limited, for customising your catalogue to your own preferences. Primarily aimed at SMEs.

Price range: from 35 euros per month (March 2026).
