Celtic WebMerchant: migration from Lightspeed eCom to Shopify

Building a fully custom Shopify webshop theme from scratch and full migration support

The brief, therefore, was to migrate the existing Lightspeed eCom online shop to Shopify and to provide support throughout this migration. The project spanned a period of six months, and the online shop went live in January 2026. A wide range of integrations with internal and external Shopify apps were either migrated or set up afresh as part of the process.

What we did was to thoroughly analyse the existing design (a Lightspeed eCom theme) from a few years ago and evaluate it to see where improvements could be made, now that the switch to a different e-commerce platform was about to take place; this was the perfect moment to explore how we could make the most of the Shopify platform to maximise the online shop’s performance and ensure it could continue to generate conversions in the future. For instance, there was a need to automate more processes, establish links with external apps and provide greater support for the community. We achieved this through integrations with, amongst others, Klaviyo, Zendesk, and wishlist and back-in-stock features.
